Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Mark DeutschDr. Deutsch performs a wide variety of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures. He has lectured and written several articles on cancer reconstruction and other breast procedures. He completed a fellowship in breast and head and neck cancer reconstruction at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and regularly participates in the annual Atlanta Breast Symposium. He is board certified in both General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
 
A graduate of the University of South Florida Medical School, he completed his residency in general surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center/Charity Hospital in New Orleans; his fellowship in plastic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York; and a fellowship in micro vascular surgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
 
He is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The American College of Surgery and the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery. He also enjoys traveling to South America annually to perform volunteer surgery.

Dr. Deutsch performs surgery at Northside Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, the Center for Plastic Surgery, and Perimeter Surgery Center. He also has hospital affiliations Northside Hospital-Cherokee, Piedmont Hospital, Gwinnett Medical Center, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. He sees patients on Tuesdays in the Northside office on Johnson Ferry Road and on Wednesdays at the Hwy 54 office in the Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Dr. Deutsch is a member of The American College of Surgeons, and this is a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.
 
Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as “Fellows.” The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.
