It’s normal to have questions when considering a breast lift. Breast lifts are common surgical procedures that reshape and enhance the look of your bust. Many women choose to have increased fullness in their breasts and opt for breast augmentation in addition to a breast lift. Perimeter Plastic Surgery is here to help you learn more about breast lifts and augmentations, as well as the processes that go into having the procedures.

Is A Breast Lift Right For You?

There are many reasons why women decide to have breast surgery. Breast lifts and augmentations are popular procedures that bring a woman’s body in line with her mental self-image. Patients often enjoy improved confidence, self-esteem, and poise after breast surgery.

A breast lift refreshes the shape of your bust by removing excess skin, sculpting tissues, and raising the breasts. A woman’s breasts often change shape as she ages. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and other events can cause breasts to lose firmness. You might be interested in a breast lift to reverse sagging, address nipples that have started to point downward or renew a more youthful appearance.

Why Add Breast Augmentation To A Breast Lift?

A breast lift updates the shape of your breasts, but they don’t change their size. If you’re aiming for a full, curvy silhouette, a breast lift with augmentation might be best for you. During the breast augmentation process, safe implants are inserted to create a more lush bust. You’ll be amazed by the results when you combine the sculpting effects of a breast lift with the subtle enhancement of augmentation.

A breast lift with augmentation is a popular procedure that Dr. Deutsch has performed on a regular basis since opening his practice. Perimeter Plastic Surgery will design the perfect procedure for your body, delivering the results you deserve.

How Long Does A Breast Lift With Augmentation Take?

Combining an augmentation with a breast lift is a more complicated procedure than having either surgery by itself. However, the surgery is still relatively short. Every patient is different, but most breast lifts and augmentations can be completed in just a couple of hours.

Breast augmentations alone take around one hour. A breast lift is a lengthier procedure, lasting about one and a half to two hours. A breast lift with augmentation takes around two and a half hours in most cases.

Every Perimeter Plastic Surgery patient receives a customized procedure crafted precisely for her body. Several different factors impact how long your procedure will last, including:

  • Size and volume of augmentation
  • Type of implant (saline or silicone)
  • Implant profile and placement
  • Removal of any previous implant
  • Desired silhouette

You’ll spend around one to two and a half on the surgical table, but you should set aside a whole day for your procedure. The team will prep you for surgery before your augmentation, then monitor your recovery period for at least an hour after the procedure. Breast surgeries are outpatient procedures, meaning that the patient isn’t checked into the hospital overnight. Instead, you’ll return home with a trusted loved one to start the recovery process.

How Long Does Recovery Take For A Breast Lift With Augmentation?

Expect to spend four to six weeks recovering from a breast augmentation and lift procedure. Like any surgical procedure, you’ll probably feel uncomfortable for the first few days of your recovery. We schedule initial follow-up visits one to two weeks after every procedure so your medical team can track your progress. The team will also check your nipple’s color and blood supply to ensure proper healing.

Your new implants will need extra support while your body heals. We recommend wearing a surgical bra or special dressing during recovery. It’s also essential to protect your chest from impacts that could rupture or damage your implants.

We rarely use non-dissolvable stitches, so you can expect your stitches to be dissolved after one to three weeks, depending on how your breasts heal. You’ll start to feel better as time passes, but be sure to follow your medical team’s recovery instructions. Avoid lifting heavy objects and strenuous exercise until you’re cleared for these activities. You can protect the surgical sites and improve your recovery by giving yourself time to heal fully.

Your breasts will look dramatically different immediately after the surgery. Your implants will gradually adjust to the shape of your body, achieving a natural result as you heal. In the meantime, while healing, your scars can be easily hidden under bathing suits and bras. Finally, your incisions should fade to thin, white lines within a few months.
