BOTOX® Cosmetic (Botulism Toxin Type A) is a simple non-surgical aesthetic treatment for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, around the eyes (crows feet) and around the mouth. It works by reducing the contractions of the muscles that cause those persistent frown lines that have developed over time.
Dr. Deutsch will administer a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause the wrinkles, and within days (up to a week) there can be a noticeable improvement in the frown. Results generally last about 4-5 months. There is no anesthesia required outside of a cold pack to aid discomfort. There is no recovery time. Rare complications include bruising, and the failure to relieve the affected wrinkles.
